ESMAUL HUSNA THE FACTS OF READING ALLAH'S 99 NAMES
Esmaul Hüsna is an expression used for 99 beautiful names of Allah (SWT). There is very important information about Esmaul Husna, which is widely included in hadith sources. The most important of these is our Prophet, Hz. It is a word of Muhammad. The information in the hadiths about the virtues of reading and memorizing the 99 names of Allah is as follows;
Our Prophet Hz. Muhammad (PBUH) mentioned 99 names of Allah in one of his hadiths and stated that those who count and memorize these names will enter Paradise (Bukhari, Da'avat, 68; Tawhid, 12; Muslim, Dhikr, 2; Tirmidhi, Da'avat, 82)
The purpose of "counting" (ihsa) and "memorizing" (memorization) mentioned in the hadiths is to know Allah by his beautiful names and to believe, worship and obey Him.
The names of Allah are not limited to 99, there are other names as well. The number 99 is mentioned in the hadith in question, not in the sense of limitation, but because these names are the most famous names of Allah.
These ninety-nine names are counted one by one in the hadith narrated by Tirmidhi and Ibn Mace (Tirmidhi, Da'avat, 87; Ibn Mace, Dua, 10).
WHAT IS ESMAUL HUSNA?
The composition of the name asma, which is the plural, and the composition of the words "husnâ" meaning "beautiful, the most beautiful", refers to the names attributed to Allah. There are more than 100 divine names in the Quran alone; There are other names attributed to Allah in various hadiths. Although the composition of Esma-i husna covers all of them in a broad sense, it is accepted that it includes more than ninety-nine names.
The word husna in the composition of Esmaul husna has been regarded as an adjective meaning "beautiful" or ism-i tafdîl in the meaning of "the most beautiful" (Lisanu'l-ʿArab, "ḥsn" md .; Ebu'l-Beka, el-Kulliyyât, "ḥusn "art.). In both cases, the beauty here emphasizes a fact and does not remind the mefhum-i disbeliever, since a name of Allah that is not beautiful cannot be mentioned.
Abu Bakr Ibn al-Arabi lists the reasons why divine names are described as beautiful as follows:
1. Esmaul husna expresses glory and transcendence about Allah and awakens a sense of respect in servants.
2. If they are used in dhikr and prayer, it is a means of acceptance and rewards.
3. It gives peace and tranquility to hearts, and encourages hope and grace.
4. Since the value of knowledge depends on the value of what is known and Allah is the most honorable of all known, this knowledge gives merit and honor to those who have the knowledge of esmaul husna.
5. Esmaul husna allows us to obtain sufficient and correct information about Allah as it includes the attributes that are vajip, permissible and believer 'for Allah (al-Emadu'l-aḳṣa, vr. 4b-5a). Fahreddin ar-Razi, on the other hand, stated that he was content with mentioning the ones belonging to Allah among these meanings of good wishes and expressed the qualities of the concept of beauty to be used about Him.
Can ALLAH'S Names be Given to Children?
One of the duties of a parent to his child is to give him a good name. As a matter of fact, Hz. The Prophet (PBUH) stated in a hadith that people will be called by their names on the Day of Judgment and said "Give your children nice names." (Abu Dawud, Adab, 69) said.
When it comes to giving children the names of Allah, it should be noted immediately that the names unique to Allah should not be given to children with the same word. If children will be given names that remind them of Allah, the word "abd" which means "servant" is added to the head, "Abdullah" (servant of Allah), "Abdurrahman" (servant of Rahman), "Abdurrahim" (servant of the Rahim), " Names such as Abdulkadir "(servant of Kadir) should be given.
Since names such as "Kerim, Latif, Rauf ..." from the " esmaul husna" of Allah Almighty are common names besides Allah, these names that are not specific to Allah can be given to children. (Ibn Abidin, Redd al-mukar, IX, 598)
